I had a brilliant idea tonight. After dinner I decided to walk down Regent Street to look at the display windows then head over to the Leister Sq area to people watch. It was a good idea to walk off the calories after the big Moroccan dinner.
After wandering I realized it was getting late so I got a bright idea and decided to travel back to Kensington on the top of a double decker bus. After studing the map I found a direct bus from Piccadilly to Kensington High Street.
The number 9 bus arrived within a few minutes and I snagged a seat in the front on the top level. Years ago my sister came to London with me for a week and we had such fun riding the top of the double deckers at night. This was fun.
As we approached Knightsbridge the bus took a left turn onto Sloane Street. If you know anything about. London you know this is odd because to get to Kensington the bus should have continued going straight along Hyde Park. Surely this must be a slight detour and soon the driver would make a right turn to continue traveling west.
But he didn't.
Luckily I know the area and when the bus got to Sloane Square I hopped off and decide to continue my journery by Underground.
after departing the bus I see where I made the mistake. This was the number 19 bus not the number 9. oooops!
So I ran into the Underground and as I got to the platform the tran was getting ready to depart so I hopped on and off we went. When I looked up at the map I realized I "hopped" on the wrong train.
Luckily, I got off at the next station and then "hopped" on the right train.
It was a nice trip back anyway.
Note to self - Pay attention to train and bus directionals.

When Kristin and I were there in January, we were walking back to our hotel (in Kensington) and were somewhere near Victoria Station when we turned left down a street only to realize later that we actually made a U-turn. We were headed back in the direction from where we came. It was very annoying.
